|Requirements for completion of the program||In principle, students need to study at the university for three years or more to obtain 16 credits or more, to receive the required research supervision, and to pass their Doctor’s thesis and final examination.|

|The Doctor’s Program is aimed at developing professionals in the instructional systems area and developing educational researchers in their relevant research areas, as well as contributing to the improvement of the academic aspect of the area. Graduates are expected to be teachers/researchers in higher educational institutions (such as universities) or to be active researchers in companies/research institutions. This program aims to develop personnel who can be engaged in teaching from a researcher’s perspective and who can contribute to training the younger generation.|

The 2014 entrance examination to the Graduate School of Instructional Systems will be held based upon the following schedule

Request an application guide book
Kumamoto University uses Telemail (an online request form) to allow applicants to request an application guide book. Please use the online request form to request the package.
An application form is enclosed in the application guide book with a payment slip for the examination fee. All applicants must request the application guide book through Telemail.
* Telemail is a service provided by the Operation Center for Prospectus of National Educational Institutions. It receives requests and dispatches application information packages (including application forms) on behalf of universities, junior colleges and vocational schools in Japan.
Please note that shipping costs incurred when using Telemail are the responsibility of applicants.

You can peruse an application guide book in PDF format. However, applications cannot be made in this way. All applicants must request an application guide book through Telemail.
■For those who wish to obtain information about the graduate school via email
Information about the Graduate School of Instructional Systems will be emailed to those who have registered their personal information such as their names and email addresses. Note that if you have requested an application guide book through Telemail and agreed on information delivery, you do not need to register here. (The information will be emailed you.)
How to apply for assessment of applicant eligibility
The Graduate School of Instructional Systems will hold pre-screening for assessment of applicant eligibility based upon the following schedule (for some applicants only*):

To applicants for special selection for overseas students
It is impossible to acquire residency status as “student” (refer to Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act) by entering the Graduate School of Instructional Systems (Masters/Doctors programs). The reason for this is that although the Graduate School of Social and Cultural Sciences is an on-campus research program, Master’s and Doctor’s Instructional Systems programs employ remote education through Internet.
To be eligible to apply for these programs, you must have appropriate residency status or must be able to acquire such residency status after enrollment in order to study Masters/Doctors Instructional Systems programs.
