Basic Operation of Folders

[Exercise 6]
Create a folder named “kisoA” under (inside of) My Documents then create a folder named “week01” under it.
“kisoA” and “week01” shall be named using single-byte characters only.

  • Double click “My Documents” on the desktop.

  • Select “Create new” → “Folder” from the “File” menu in the window displayed.

  • A folder icon appears, then input “kisoA” in single-byte characters instead of the folder name “New folder” attached to the icon. Click on some other area of the desktop or window to set the given folder name.

  •

  • Next, double click on a part of the folder icon for “kisoA” that you created to open the “kisoA” folder.
The folder is empty as it has just been created.
Pay attention to the “Address,” which shows “kisoA,” in the upper part of the window.
This indicates that the folder that is now displayed (or you are working on) is “kisoA” in My Document.

  •
(Note) Substitute the drives and folders for your actual environment.

  • Create a folder “week01” in this folder in the same way you created the “kisoA” folder.
